Was Houdini murdered?
After his death over 80 years ago, the US forensic experts are hoping
to exhume the remains of famous illusionist Harry Houdini in an effort
to determine whether he was murdered.
Murder rumours have persisted about death of the escapologist who died
in the US city of Detroit in 1926 at the age of 52.
The great nephew of Houdini, George Hardeen says it's about time they
were investigated. He is of the opinion that the renowned escape artist
may have been murdered by a group known as the Spiritualists he had exposed
as frauds.
Houdini’s relatives support the plan to examine the body and are
due to formally request an exhumation on Monday.
The request will be made before a judge in New York, where Houdini was
buried.
"The Secret Life of Houdini," a biography published last year,
says he received death threats from mediums towards the end of his life.
